Online Editor:

Important: The changes you are going to make to your dataset are not affecting the NERIN Metadata Database. Hence, the database is not updated automatically, but you will be prompted to download an XML-file containing your dataset information. In order to update your dataset in the Database, please send the file you downloaded to dirk.pflugmacher@oregonstate.edu. Please note, that although you can edit an XML file with any text editor, doing so could result in incompatibility with the NERIN Metadata Database structure. For this reason, please use only the online editor described here.

Steps:

1. Find your Dataset: Choose an Investigator or Metadata Author Name and search the database for your dataset. Alternatively you can click on >Show All Datasets< to list all currently available datasets.
2. In the search result table, click on the edit-link next to your dataset. You will be redirected to a webform that contains your dataset information.
3. Make desired changes and download your dataset to your computer. The file you will be downloading is in XML-format and can be viewed in any text-editor or web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer).
4. Email the downloaded file to dirk.pflugmacher@oregonstate.edu in order to update the NERIN Metadata Database.
