X-Win32 Installation Guide


Version:

9.x (latest version is 9.4 as of March, 2009)

Description:

X-Win32 is StarNet's latest X terminal application for Windows clients. X-Win32 allows Windows users to connect to Linux/Unix servers on a network and run the applications from those servers on their Windows desktop. Users can even copy and paste data between the X and Windows applications.

License Information:

20 user floating license. Must be connected to COF network. See Q:\Resources\Xwin32\readme_92.txt for details.

For XWin32 9.x only, follow the instructions in this file: Q:\Resources\Xwin32\readme_92.txt

60 MB

Instructions:

To install XWin32 9.2 follow the instructions in Q:\Resources\Xwin32\readme_92.txt.

To install X-Win32 8.1, close all running programs and open the Windows Control Panel. Scroll down to Add or Remove Programs and double click the icon. Then, click on "Add New Programs".

In the "Add Programs from your network" section, you should see "StarNet X-Win32 8.1" listed. Click the "Add" button to install the software.

We recommend you select "Complete Installation" when you install the program.

If the person installing the program is not the only one using it on the computer then do the following:

After installation, go to C:\Documents and Settings\(yourusername)\Application Data\StarNet\X-Win32. Copy License.config to C:\Program Files\StarNet\X-Win32 9.x

Additional Information:

Floating license expires in May 31, 2009.
