Helpdesk Forms

We've modified the process for Hardware Registration, Transfer and Removal requests. To start the process, please send an email to the Forestry Computing Helpdesk and we will follow up with you to obtain the appropriate information.

Signing up for a Forestry network account allows users access to a wide variety of services. Our services are designed specifically to support academic work and to facilitate collaboration. Some of our more valuable services are detailed below.

Forestry Users || Undergraduates


Equipment Checkout

Users with Forestry user accounts giving presentations at conferences on or off campus can check out laptop computers and portable projectors free of charge.

Software

Faculty and grad students have free access to a wide variety of useful software including both the Microsoft and Corel office suites, several different GIS packages, graphics applications, statistical analysis tools as well as several specialized forestry applictions. A wide variety of Internet productivity utilities are also available.

Printing

Forestry users have access to shared black & white or color printers. Access to a large format color plotter is also available for a small additional fee.

Computer Buying

Forestry Computing Resources offers free advice and assistance when buying a new computer help. We can also offer discounted prices.

Storage & Backups

Forestry network accounts include secure, private network storage space as well as shared network space to facilitate collaboration among faculty members and graduate students.

Moreover, all information stored on a network drive is backed up every night providing additional security. If files are inadvertently damaged or deleted, we can provide prompt restoration of valuable information.
