How to Use the Laptops and Projectors

Plan ahead!!

Reservations for the laptops and projectors need to be made at the Helpdesk. You can check the schedule on the Web at: http://webdata.forestry.oregonstate.edu/helpdesk/reservations/

  1. A day or two before your presentation make sure you know how to use the equipment and know how to get your file copied to the laptop.

  2. Pick up the projector and laptop 20-30 minutes ahead of when you make your presentation. Give yourself time to set-up and make sure everything is working. (Give yourself an hour or two if you have never used the equipment and/or didn't perform a trial run a in advance as suggested above)

  3. If you have not made adequate attempts to be prepared, it is NOT the responsibility of anyone else to bail you out of your crisis.

  • Once you tap the power button it will take nearly a minute for the projector lamp to warm up and actually project anything.
  • The InFocus Projector should automatically configure it's display to match up to 1024x768 resolution. If the image is shifted and not using the full screen -- press Menu on the top of the projector, use the right arrow key to go to the Image menu, make sure that Auto Image is on (the large buttons below the arrows to change the setting if needed).
