How to Use a Read / Write CD Like a Floppy
*Using Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum
The first time you use the CD:
- Insert the new, blank CD in the Read/Write CD drive.
- Double click the Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum desktop icon.
- Click Make a Data CD

Then, click DirectCD
- Now the Adaptec Direct CD Format Utility should have opened.
- Click Format CD
- You may provide a "label" for the CD or just accept the default
- Click Start Format
- You're informed that you are about to format your CD, click OK
- It takes about 25 minutes to format the CD. When formatting is complete, click Finish
- Click OK when the format has finished, then
after a few seconds you'll have to click OK on another
final acknowledgment screen.
- Your CD is now ready and is in write mode.
To eject your CD:

In a Windows Explorer, My Computer, window you can Right-Click the CD
and choose Eject.
Or you can just push the button on the CD drive to eject the CD. - Once the write process finishes, the CD will be ejected from the drive.
