Dear Judge, Thank you so much for volunteering to provide this valuable service to student members. This truly is an important contribution to the development and encouragement of young scientists. Please provide the following information and then press the submit button. Once you have done this we will assign each of you 2-3 posters or presentations to evaluate based upon the match between your areas of expertise and the topics of student presentations and posters. There are restrictions on student eligibility that should keep the number of student participants to a manageable number. Also, the form the judges use to evaluate the students presentation for the competition will only be used to select the winner of the competition and will not be shared with the students. Instead, there is a separate program has been designed to provide a formal structure for students to seek feed back from scientists on their presentation independent of the competitive program. We strongly encourage all of you to also help with that program but wish to make clear that these are now two separate programs. One with a goal of recognizing the best presentation by a student at the meeting and the other with a goal of providing valuable feedback to students on their presentations. Your assistance with both of these programs will be greatly appreciated. Please provide the information requested below and then press the submit button. Once this is done you will be in our judge database and we will email you your assignments at some point during the month of February.
Please indicate your ability ("High", "Med", "Low") to judge student presentations in each of the disciplines listed below. We will use these categories to best match the expertise of the judges with the material being presented by students. Note that the complications of scheduling the evaluation of many talks and by many judges may necessitate that you judge talks from any of these disciplines. We will provide the best matches that circumstances and schedules allow. Finally, we have also provided an "other" category in case there is a crucial topic area, which we have omitted from this list. If you wish to select an "other" option, you will need to email Geoff Henebry with a description of this category. (Note there is a link in the "Other" box to send email to Geoff Henebry.)
Are you co-authoring presentations or posters by any students that are being judged for an award at this meeting? Note, we are asking this question so that we can insure that you are not asked to judge any presentations or posters where there might be an appearance of a conflict of interest. Even if you are co-authoring a student presentation or poster you are still eligible to judge other presentations and we would greatly appreciate your assistance.
