STUDENT AWARD PROGRAM
APPLICATION FORM

Dear student,

Thanks for your interest in the student award program. US-IALE is happy to recognize students who have conducted and presented exemplary research in landscape ecology. To be considered for either a student oral presentation or poster you must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Only students who are registered members of IALE can participate.
  • Only students who are currently enrolled in a degree program can participate.
  • Only students presenting complete studies and not preliminary results can participate.
  • Students can only participate in the contest one time during the course of their degree program.

For more details on these criteria, please refer to the eligibility page.

Finally, note that papers presented by students with coauthors are welcome as long as the presentation (talk or poster) is done by the student and the work was principally theirs.

Formal feedback from judges to students will not be provided. Instead, there is a separate program designed to provide a formal structure for students to seek feedback from scientists on their presentation independent of the competitive program. Students who indicated they were interested in receiving feed back when they submitted their abstracts will be enrolled in this program. Those students should look for comments from evaluators following the meeting.

To have your paper or poster evaluated for the student award, please provide the following information and then press the submit button (located at the bottom of this page). Once you have done this, we will arrange to have your presentation or poster evaluated. Don't forget to examine the advice web page and evaluation form as you prepare for the meeting.

Please select three disciplines that best match the topic of your presentation or poster.  Then select "1" next to the category that best describes the topic of your presentation or poster.  Likewise, select "2" and "3" next to the second and third most relevant topics.  Please select only one choice for each priority. We have also provided an "other" category in case there is a crucial topic area, which we have omitted from this list.  If you wish to select the "other" option, you must rank it as any other category in your list and then email Geoff Henebry (usiale.stawp@gmail.com) with a description of this category.
